What is Gifted about?
The Gifted manga is written by Seimaru Amagi (pseudonym for one half of the Drops of God manga creator duo pen-named Tadashi Agi), and illustrated by Rima Amamiya. The manga launched in December 2021 in Kodansha’s Nakayoshi magazine. Kodansha previously listed the author as Shin Kibayashi, which is another pseudonym for Amagi. The series will publish its 12th volume on 12 June, 2026.
Rima Amamiya has released a celebratory illustration of the two main characters:
The story of Gifted follows detective Natsuki Amakusa, a genius with amazing deductive skills, and Yūya Shiki, a man who was born with a gift of identifying murderers. Together, they solve various difficult cases using their gifts.
The manga inspired a live-action TV drama in September 2023, where Takahisa Masuda portrayed Amakusa and Hidaka Ukisho portrayed Shiki. The second season of the drama aired in December 2023.
