The sports romance anime is based on Kouji Miura’s manga.
After its update at Jump Festa 2026, the official accounts of the “Blue Box” (Ao no Hako) anime finally unveiled a new visual today. The illustration is blue themed, and depicts a Christmas Tree in a school gymnasium. The second season is coming out in Fall 2026.
Blue Box Season 2 details
Unfortunately, no other details about the upcoming sequel of the popular October 2024 anime series. The tagline for the new illustration reads “Surely, it's not just my imagination”, and it’s created by illustrator Rei Kato.
Yuichiro Yano directed the first season of the romance anime with TMS Entertainment producing it and Telecom Animation Film animating it. Yuko Kakihara was in charge of series composition while Miho Tanino designed the characters. Takashi Omama composed the music for the anime.
The Blue Box anime is based on Kouji Miura’s manga series of the same name. It began publishing in Shueisha's Weekly Shonen Jump magazine in April 2021 and has 23 volumes so far. The first season of the anime aired from October 2024 to March 2025. Viz Media publishes the manga in English and describes the story as:
