A new trailer for the long-awaited sequel has been released.

After four years of waiting, the Black Clover anime series is finally coming back with a new season in 2026. During the second day of Jump Festa 2026, the sequel season was announced with a new trailer and key visual. Fans who have been waiting for the anime’s return are likely going to be ecstatic about the news of its return.

Black Clover second season details

The action-packed new trailer for Black Clover’s next season has hyped its fans up beyond belief. The anime series is coming back after airing its last episode in 2021. Since then, there has only been an anime movie, which came out in 2023. With the series finally returning next year, the audience will finally get to see Asta and Yuno’s next battles animated.

Crunchyroll will continue to stream the second season of the anime. The first season of the Black Clover anime, produced by Pierrot, first began airing in 2017 and concluded its 170-episode run in 2021. In June 2023, an anime movie titled Black Clover: Sword of the Wizard King, premiered in Japan, and was simultaneously released on Netflix globally.

The Black Clover anime is based on Yuki Tabata’s manga series of the same name which began publishing in Weekly Shōnen Jump magazine in 2015. In December of 2023, it was moved to the Jump Giga magazine, where it’s still being published. Viz Media publishes the manga in English, and describes the story as such:

Asta is a young boy who dreams of becoming the greatest mage in the kingdom. Only one problem—he can’t use any magic! Luckily for Asta, he receives the incredibly rare five-leaf clover grimoire that gives him the power of anti-magic. Can someone who can’t use magic really become the Wizard King? One thing’s for sure—Asta will never give up!
