The first volume of Black Bullet: New World Order will ship in November 2026.
After 12 years, the popular light novel series “Black Bullet” is being revived! The legendary series will be revamped as “Black Bullet: New World Order”. This is the series first revival in 12 years, as the 7th and last volume of the novel came out in 2014. The first two volumes of the new project will be released in November 2026.

What do we know about Black Bullet: New World Order so far?
A short announcement video featuring Yuki Kaji and Rina Hidaka has been released, Kaji and Hidaka voiced Rentaro and Enju in the Black Bullet anime in 2014.
The Black Bullet: New World Order project will completely revamp the original Black Bullet novel storyline and buff it with new illustrations and plotlines. Saki Ukai continues to draw the gorgeous new cover illustrations for the volumes.
The first four volumes of the revamped novel will follow the story of the sixth volume of the original novel series. The fifth volume, which comes out in February, will continue with a completely new storyline that will change the seventh volume of the original.
Two volumes will be released in every consecutive month starting November and continue for four months.

Moreover, a new series titled ‘The Essence of Evil’ (name romanisation not confirmed) by the author Shiden Kanzaki has also been scheduled for Spring 2027.
What is Black Bullet about?
Shiden Kanzaki and Saki Ukai launched the novel series in 2011 under ASCII Media Works’ Dengeki Bunko imprint. 7 volumes were released from July 2011 to April 2014. It also received a manga adaptation by Morinohon, which was released from August 2012 to June 2014. An anime adaptation also aired in 2014.
Yen Press published the light novel and manga volumes in English and describes the story as:
The near future. A terrible battle against a parasitic virus called "Gastrea" has been fought...and lost. Humanity is cornered and lives in despair. Rentaro and Enju face constant danger in their work as a team of specialists working for the Tendo Civil Security Agency, one of several groups dedicated to fighting Gastrea. Enju is one of the "cursed children," who survived the virus and gained superhuman powers as a result. A crazed top-hat-wearing terrorist is on the loose, but Rentaro's got his hands full just dealing with his fellow civsec agents!
