The 2023 dark-fantasy anime is coming back with Season 2.
Through an official press release, the 2023 dark-fantasy anime series, Berserk of Gluttony, has confirmed that Season 2 is now in production. The announcement was paired with a brand-new visual, which features Fate and Holy Knight Roxy.
Unfortunately, no other details, like a broadcast window, have been revealed besides confirmation of Season 2.
What is Berserk of Gluttony about?
Berserk of Gluttony is based on the light novel series “Berserk of Gluttony: The One That Exceeds the Concept of Levels” by Isshiki Ichirin. It initially started out in Shosetsuka ni Naro, before being published in print by GC Novels. The series also received a manga adpatation illustrated by Daisuke Takino in Comic Ride.
The story so far for the anime adaptation is described officially as:
In a world where the quality of one's skills dictates their fate, the protagonist Fate was forced into a bottomless life of poverty because his skill, "Gluttony," seemingly did nothing but make him hungry. However, after slaying a thief who infiltrated the castle, Fate discovers the true, terrifying nature of his power: “Gluttony” allows him to usurp the skills and abilities of those he kills.
His world changes forever when he encounters Greed, a sentient sword possessing a "Sin-branded" skill. Stepping
into a world of endless conflict, the boy once despised as incompetent begins his climb to the top.
In the first season, Fate fought to protect his beloved Holy Knight Roxy, defy an unjust society, and guard his
companions—all while struggling against the overwhelming power of "Gluttony" that threatened to consume him. Now, the saga moves into its highly anticipated second season!
