Shueisha’s Ultra Jump magazine’s August issue has announced that the coming-of-age manga “Flower and Asura” (Hana wa Saku, Shura no Gotoku) will end in the September issue, which will be released on 19 August. The manga is written by Ayano Takeda and illustrated by Musshu.

When is the Flower and Asura manga ending?
The Ultra Jump magazine’s August issue announced that the final chapter of the Flower and Asura manga will be published on 19 August, 2026, in the magazine’s September issue.
The story of the manga takes place in the fictional island of Tonakishima, loosely based on Kyoto’s Ukyō Ward. In the small island with a population of 600 people lives Hana, who loves reading and shares her passion with the kids of her locality by reading to them. The president of her school’s Broadcasting Club Mizuki Usurai notices Hana’s talent and invites her to join the club. Hana agrees and finally starts using her magnetic voice to pull people in as she experiences the ups and downs of broadcasting.
The manga started serialising in June 2021. As of May 2026, 10 volumes have been published.
It inspired an anime adaptation by Studio Bind in January 2025. Depending on your location, the anime is available to stream on HIDIVE, Netflix, or Prime Video. Unfortunately, the manga hasn’t received an official English translation as of yet.
