Back in 2025, it was announced that Marukawa’s manga series “Apprentice Nail Artist in a Foreign Land” is getting an anime adaptation. In a new update, the anime revealed its staff details. Unfortunately, details about the series’ voice cast and release date are still unknown.

What do we know about the Apprentice Nail Artist in a Foreign Land anime so far?
Daiji Iwanaga, who directed the The Klutzy Class Monitor and the Girl with the Short Skirt anime, is also directing the upcoming isekai series. Tomoko Konparu handles series composition while Konparu and Michiko Yokote write the scripts together. Studio Zero-G is in charge of animation.
The seventh volume of the manga will be shipped in Japan on 4 September.
What is Apprentice Nail Artist in a Foreign Land about?
Murukawa began serialising the manga in Shufu to Seikatsu Sha's Pash Up! manga website in March 2022. Later, it was transferred to the Comic Pash! Neo website.
TOKYOPOP publishes the manga volumes in English and describes the story as:
“I’m going to become this world’s first decorated nail artist!”
In a foreign land where nail polish acts as a magical conduit, Saara aspires to create pretty and powerful decorated nail art! Unfortunately for Saara, she lacks both the magical ability and the know-how to paint anything other than useless party tricks. Even her best customer, Rocco — a beautiful wizard with a mean streak (and an even meaner apprentice) — can barely summon a spark from the cutesy nails Saara creates for him!
Rather than be discouraged, Saara is determined to improve her abilities and surpass even her benefactor, the grouchy goblin Master Reed! But as a woefully average, utterly unexceptional protagonist, Saara has a long way to go —and a lot of nails to paint — before she'll ever stand a chance at greatness.
For now, she's just an average girl working as a below-average nail artist in a fantasy world!
