Telecom Animation Film was established in 1975.
It has been announced that TMS Entertainment, one of the oldest Japanese animation studios, has absorbed its subsidiary Telecom Animation Film. TMS will be assuming all rights and obligations of the subsidiary, which will henceforth be dissolved.
TMS Entertainment absorbs Telecom Animation Film
According to a report by Gamebiz, the news was announced in a ‘merger notice’ which was published in the Kanpō (Official Gazette) on 16 February, 2026. As per the report, Telecom Animation Film will be dissolved completely and all rights and obligations of the company will be assumed by TMS Entertainment moving forward.
Telecom Animation Film was founded on 19 May, 1975, as a subsidiary of TMS Entertainment. Some of the most notable works of the studio include: the Lupin III franchise, as well as The Seven Deadly Sins: Four Knights of the Apocalypse, Don't Toy with Me, Miss Nagatoro, and many more. The most recent anime project by the studio is Blue Box, which is produced by TMS Entertainment.
TMS Entertainment (formerly known as Kyokuichi Corporation) was established in 1946. Back then, it began as Asahi Gloves Manufacturing Co., Ltd. Owned by Sega Corporation, it’s one of the oldest and most successful animation and production studios of all time.
