August offers support to his sister and healer Eishia in her time of need.

In the previous chapter of Kei Urana’s Gaachiakuta manga, we saw Zanka discovering that Mymo’s inhuman form can be attacked by Vital Instruments. In the latest chapter, we see Eishia being flustered amongst the crowd as she doesn’t know if her electricity-based healing abilities will be accepted by the normal people. Her brother August gives her courage in his own unique way. Amo stands up again, and heads towards the Doll Festival ground with Fu, but she might be too late.

Gachiakuta Chapter 154 recap

August vows to protect Eishia (Image: Kodansha/ Kei Urana).

The issue begins with all the injured people being gathered together in one place so they can be healed. Eishia looks around anxiously as, even though she is a healer, she has been called names for using her electricity-based healing powers on normal people before. But before she can get too much into her own head, her brother August drops a half-dead man in front of her and excitedly asks her to heal him. Eishia wonders if it’s okay to use her Giver powers in front of so many people.

August reminds her that people came to the Doll Festival to see Givers do crazy things with their powers, so they’re unlikely to judge her. But if they complain, August will go crazy on them on behalf of his sister. The siblings then get busy to find an extension cord that can withstand high voltages. The Doll Festival worker Wing suddenly walks towards them and says that they have a lot of them at the festival ground. The next panel focuses on Amo, who is sitting dejectedly in a corner after being defeated by Mymo.

Amo starts thinking about what Mymo said (Image: Kodansha/ Kei Urana).

She remembers how Enjin told her to stand up even if the discouragement was too harsh. For the first time, she experiences the smell of an anxious crowd. She asks Fu if he is strong, and he says only when he has orders. Amo says she’s weak because she lacks experience, but if she doesn’t do something now, she’ll never gain any. She stands up and announces that she will go to Rudo. Fu says he was given orders to keep her safe and the stage area is dangerous.

Amo tells him to protect her, pointing out that he’s strong when given an order. She wishes she could give a stronger order like “Help them”, but she’s not sure she’s strong enough to do that. She vows to stop lying to herself and depending on other people to come save her. As she starts walking toward the main arena, she sees Goka pass her with Zanka’s injured body over his shoulder. As blood drips near her foot, Amo looks around to realise the level of destruction. As she reaches the main stage, she sees the inhuman Mymo holding an almost lifeless Rudo up with his arm. It seems that she’s too late.

Gachiakuta Chapter 154 review

This is one of those chapters that make you want to throw your phone away after finishing it. The beginning was sweet and hopeful, with August being protective and supportive of his little sister. They might even make a new friend soon. We also saw Amo trying to overcome her terrible trauma and finally start to stand on her own two feet. But it all came crashing down when she entered the arena and saw Rudo in that condition. I know in my heart that Rudo won’t die because of his plot armour, but it still sent shivers down my spine to see him so lifeless. I hope Amo comes up with a way to defeat the monster Mymo and send him to his rightful place in hell.
