A new hero is coming to Netflix.
A new trailer has been released for THE RIBBON HERO, an upcoming anime film that reimagines Osamu Tezuka's classic Princess Knight for a new generation.
The trailer offers a better look at Sapphire's journey, introduces several new characters, and previews the film's theme song "Reborn" by Girls Archive ahead of its worldwide Netflix debut on 8 August, 2026.

Who are the new cast members of THE RIBBON HERO?
Three new cast members have joined the film:
- Seiran Kobayashi as Pine
- Koki Uchiyama as Velvet
- Mayumi Shintani as Zirco
Saya, from the comedy duo Lalande, is voicing the movie’s protagonist Sapphire.
The trailer also gives viewers a glimpse at Sapphire's new adventure, showing the young princess forging new friendships while preparing to battle the mysterious calamity known as Nergal.

Yuki Igarashi, who previously directed "Lop and Ocho" for Star Wars: Visions, is directing the film at studio OUTLINE.
