Yūya Horiuchi is returning to direct the second season of A Wild Last Boss Appeared! at studio WAO World, with Kazuyuki Fudeyasu returning as the script writer. Season 1 character designer Maiko Ebisawa continues her role, with Season 1 chief animation directors Tōko Nakamura, Takashi Kobayashi, Shōta Ueno, Mamiko Mizutani, and Takahiro Miura also joining as character designers. Akiko Satō is joining the project as a new character designer as well.

What is A Wild Last Boss Appeared about?
The anime is based on the Japanese light novel series written by Firehead and illustrated by YahaKo. It was first published on the user-generated site Shōsetsuka ni Narō from October 2015 to April 2019, before being picked up by Earth Star Entertainment.
The series was officially released under the Earth Star Novel imprint between February 2016 and April 2019. A manga adaptation by Tsubasa Hazuki began serialisation on Earth Star Entertainment’s Comic Earth Star website in June 2017.
